Portable Pockets Skirt
This skirt has leather-lined pockets that can be detached and used as a small clutch purse. The pockets can be snapped together or used separately. When removed, they reveal a "void" on the skirt and a peak at the lining. The skirt is made out of a basic material, denim, but lined with velvet, and the pockets, lined with leather, for the discreet enjoyment of the wearer. There are also two hidden zippers to reveal and adjust the slits.
This prototype skirt addresses two pet peeves I have with clothing: 1) the lack of pockets in womenswear, and in general, the lack of stylish clothing that addresses the utilitarian needs of women 2) the tendency for clothing to be designed more for outward display than for the private satisfaction, beit pleasure or utility, of the wearer. An LED lights up the inside of the pocket. Gripping the black and red "label" turns on the light. (The tag is also the battery holder, red on one side, black on the other to indicate the polarity of the battery.) The electronics are isolated to the pockets, so the skirt can still be machine washable.
